Healthy Schools
The School does operate a healthy snack policy which has recently begun to slip. Can we please remind Parents / Carer’s that acceptable snacks are fruit, vegetable or cheese during morning break for pupils in the Juniors. Can we ask that Parents / Carer’s support us by not providing crisps, chocolate, doughnuts etc. for snack during morning break. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
Children are allowed to drink water during lesson times but we would ask that Parents / Carer’s do not provide fizzy drinks and / or fruit cordials for their children.
Collecting Children during the School Day
When collecting your child from Infants or Juniors, for any reason during the school day, can parents / carers please go the main Reception to sign your child out. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
Absence Information
Would parents / carers please ensure that you contact the school every morning of a child’s absence through illness. We operate a same day response for pupils whose absence has not been notified by 9.30am. This is part of our pupil safeguarding arrangement. Thank you for your anticipated co-operation in this matter.
Dinner Money
Please be aware that our accounts are sent to RCT on a half termly basis for the debt to be collected. Under School Meals Protocol, the School will be within it’s right to refuse pupils a school meal until all the arears are cleared. A packed lunch will have to be provided or your child has to be picked up for lunchtime.
Parents / carers must pay on a Monday for the current week, ie: paying in advance for the week’s meals. The current cost of school meals in £2.25 a day.
St David’s Day Photographs
The photographer from The Observer will be in school for the morning of Thursday 12th February 2015 to take class photos of the children in their St David’s Day costumes. Please can your child come to school dressed in their costumes.
PTA Valentine’s Disco
Thursday 12thFebruary 2015. Infants 5 – 6.15pm, Juniors 6.30 – 8pm. Entry £2 per child, tickets on the door. Parental supervision is required for the Infants.
New Directions Football Tournament
Well done to the boys who participated in the New Directions Football Finals. The standard of football was extremely high and all of the boys were a credit to the school. Unfortunately we were not victorious but a great time was had by all.
Parent / Carer Council
Thank you to those Parents / Carers who attended last night’s meeting. It was a very positive and productive meeting and many valid points were discussed. Items on the agenda included the school adopting UNICEF’s Rights for the Child as a central core ethos, developing effective communication with parents / carers and healthy schools. Further details on the agenda items will be sent to parents / carers in the near future. The next parent / carer council meeting will be held on Thursday 19th March 2015 at 5.30pm.
2015 /16 term dates and inset dates
Tuesday 1stSeptember 2015 will be an INSET day. Information regarding the remaining INSET days will be made available to parents / carers in the yearly timetable of events provided in September 2015.
