Our Adopted Pets

At Pontyclun Primary we have recently adopted some new pets. We were supported by Pets at Home in Talbot Green. The staff were very kind and donated hutches, runs, bedding etc, and also gave us a lot of helpful advice and tips about how to care properly for our new friends. All the children will be allowed to participate in the care of our animals. We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Pets at Home and also to everyone who has sent in donations to help with the on going care. The rabbits and guinea pigs are already settling in well and have been enjoying lots of cuddles and attention from the children. Please visit your year group blog from time to time to find more photos and information.

I have heard from Mr Llewellyn and all are well and back in the UK.

They will be arriving back at around 2 p.m to 2.30 p.m. The coach will be dropping off children and staff from Penygawsi and Llantrisant Primary Schools first and will then drop off at Pontyclun.

World Book Day At Pontyclun

Today was World Book Day, the pupils and staff celebrated their love of reading by dressing up as characters from their favourite books. The entire school was filled with colour, laughter and literature as everyone enjoyed a fun packed day. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the parents who donated books today. They will be put to good use throughout the school in our class libraries. The afternoon was spent by the juniors playing a giant game of Where's Wally? Can you spot him anywhere?

St. David's Day 2011

March the 1st always brings about our St. David's Day festivities. Every child in the school took part in one, or more, of our Eisteddfod competitions: written poetry, story writing, handwriting, art, singing, performance poetry (Welsh and English) and an instrumental competition. Staff have once again been amazed by the amount of talent on show. Certificates were given to all competition winners and runners up, congratulations to certificate holders, and a huge well done to every child in the school for taking part. Photographed below are all of the certificate winners from each of the 67 competitions.
