Wow.... What a performance. Every child in the juniors played their part in this superb Christmas play. For the last three afternoons the audience have been entertained with singing, dancing and acting of a very high standard. Well done to all of our junior children, you all looked amazing and performed brilliantly.
Thank you to the parents for the costumes and the support, we really do appreciate it.

Breakfast With Santa

What a treat the children had when Santa visited the school. The children had breakfast, did Christmas craft and visited Santa's grotto for a gift. A lovely morning for all. The staff would like to say a very big thank you to the PTA for all of hard work that they have put in this term.

Spooky Disco 2012

Every year our wonderful PTA organise a SPOOKY night of dancing, fun and games in the hall. This year was no different and was really well supported by children in both the Foundation Phase and Juniors, who dressed up for Halloween. Thank you, to the PTA members and parents who helped, the children had a fantastic time.

Children In Need

Our children raised over £1100 for Children In Need this year. By making cakes in the foundation phase and creating stalls in the juniors, the children were able to collect this astonishing amount for Pudsey. We had a non-uniform day, a visit from Pudsey in assembly and lots of all day. Well done and thank you to all.  The school would also like to thank Asda Coryton for their toy donations, that were used to raise further funds.

Christmas Update on School Events

Dear Parents,                                                                                                                                      07.12.12

As we gear up for the festive period I wanted to keep you updated on school events.

Santa Appeal
Thank you all very, very much for your generosity for this appeal. These presents will make a huge difference to children in our area at Christmas. The appeal co-ordinators also send their grateful thanks - they couldn’t believe how many there were.  We are very pleased and proud of the support of you all for the money, time and effort given to different charities in our school.

After School clubs
There will be no after school clubs over the next two weeks due to the Christmas shows. After school clubs will resume the second week back after Christmas.

Concerts
If a parent or grandparent is coming to watch one our Christmas performances, they will be able to take their child/grandchild home after the concerts have finished. Staff will not allow another parent to take a child unless they have been informed beforehand by a parent.

Parents will be able to record the performances unless we are notified beforehand that a parent has an objection. (We have no objections at present).

Christmas Parties
Next Friday, 14th of December we will be holding our class Christmas parties. Children are welcome to wear their party clothes into school for the day. We will provide squash for all the children. Please could all pupils bring in a covered plate of party food with their name clearly marked.  We will be holding our parties in the afternoon.

Swimming
Year 4 have one more week left of swimming - next Wednesday, 12th December. Year 3 have now finished their swimming sessions as the Christmas performances will clash next week.

Upcoming dates
At this time of year we are always invited to perform somewhere in our community. These opportunities provide an excellent experience for our pupils.   Tomorrow morning, 11 am to 12.30pm, some of our pupils are performing in St David’s Hall in Cardiff with the BBC Choir and Orchestra. This concert is being broadcast on the big screen outside, so anyone Christmas shopping may want to come and listen!
On Sunday 9th December we have been invited to two events, St Paul’s Church at 10 am and the Llantrisant Christmas Tree Festival at 1.45 pm. Please come along if you wish to support our pupils.
Last day of term is 21st December and this is a non-uniform and toy day. Pupils are responsible for  any toys they choose to bring in. (We would advise that phones and ipads etc be kept at home for safety).
February 8th 2013 is an INET day.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Santa Appeal Is A Huge Success

What an amazing response we have had from parents to our first ever RCT Santa Appeal.
The voluntary scheme was set up to ensure that disadvantaged children within RCT don’t miss out on Christmas presents this year.

The Santa Appeal motto is ‘to help prove to children in our area that Christmas does exist’. Over the last three weeks we have been inundated with generous gifts from our parents. Today, we had a celebratory assembly where we thanked the children and asked them to pass on their thanks to parents. The school minibus was then filled with presents and the gifts transported to the drop off centre. We would like to thank all of you who donated for your immense generosity, the school is very proud of the donation. Thank you.

The camera angle here does not do the donation justice, the presents covered the width of the stage. Over 100 in total.
