St. David's Day Photographs

Today the children  in the infants dressed in traditional costume for the Pontypridd Observer's photographer. These photographs will be printed in the newspaper over the next few weeks. Unfortunately, this year the newspaper only wished to photograph the infant children at our school. Nevertheless, many of our juniors dressed in Welsh colours and costumes for the day.

Please remember that next Thursday we would encourage every child in the school to once again wear traditional costumes or red tops for our St. David's Day Eisteddfod. This year, parents are invited to get involved in the Eisteddfod.  At 6pm on St. David's Day (1st March), a number of children will be reciting poetry (Welsh and English), singing and dancing for parents who wish to come along and be entertained. Children who win writing competitions will have their work on display for parents to read.

Just before half term, a group of music teachers from secondary schools all over RCT came together to encourage children in primary schools to take up instruments. Our children loved the experience and were totally enthused by the band. A huge thank you to the organisers of the event and particularly to the band members who entertained years 1-6 during the morning.  I am sure that the event will only further encourage our children to join our school orchestra with Mrs. Lewis.
