Our country dancers performed brilliantly at Tredegar house! We had the most children from any school represented and they danced so well! I am very proud of them all! Please note that country dancing club is finished for this year and will start again in September! Thank you for coming and thank you to all your parents for their support too! Mrs Abel

Newsletter June 2014

Thank you, Thank You, Thank you!

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

We would like to thank everyone from the school community for the amazing response to our fundraising day last Friday. We were incredibly proud and moved by the care shown by pupils, parents and staff towards one of our Reception pupils who is poorly in hospital. A fantastic amount was raised – £1,300!!!

Pupils enjoyed wearing odd socks, our ‘Singathon,’ baking cakes and Zumba - Thank you Mrs. Sanson-Regan!!

We would also like to extend our thanks to Ian and his team from Tesco’s who very generously donated an ipad, an ipad cover and £25 worth of  iTunes vouchers.

All those who donated money, brought in gifts and messages will be pleased to hear that it put a huge smile on our brave little girl’s face and her family wish to express their gratitude for everybody’s support.

Many thanks to you all JJ

Summer Fete

Just a reminder the School Summer Fete is on Saturday 21st June 11am-3pm. Over the past few years the event has been a success due to your amazing support.

The PTA are working as hard as ever this year, and have lots of new games and attractions for all ages.  Please help us make the day an event to remember by helping us in any of the following ways;

·        Sweet mugs (coffee mug filled with sweets, covered with cling film or cellophane)
·        Homemade Cakes for the cake stall
·        Tins, Jars, chocolates, sweets, bottles for the tombola.
·         Unused toiletries, soaps, gift sets, small gifts e.g. Photo frames etc.
·        Raffle prizes
·        Wine – for the wheelbarrow
·        Gazebos and marquees.
·        If you don’t usually attend PTA events, but would like to help at the summer fete we would be delighted to hear from you. Please leave your name at the main office and details of how we can contact you.

Penalty Shoot Out

Over the last 5 years we have worked closely with Cardiff City Football Club’s “Football In The Community” scheme. This year they delivered a free six week football and health course to Year 1, provided the school with footballs and training bibs and now they wish to help us to raise some valuable school funds. They will be visiting our School on June 26th and 27th and invite all pupils, years 1 to 6, to take part in a sponsored penalty shoot out. Last year we raised over £1800 which we used to purchase ICT equipment in the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2.

NB: Please note that different year groups are taking part on different days: All sponsorship will be for taking part in the shoot out and not per goal. Pupils are asked to bring any sponsorship money with them on the day that they take part in the shoot out.

Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 = Thursday 26th June
Year 4, Year 5, Year 6 = Friday 27th June

I have attached dates for your diary overleaf to keep you updated on school activities for the rest of the summer term.

Many thanks Miss S. Harwood
